The front end is sitting a bit high in these pics due to poor fitment, so the front wheels will be covered an inch or so more.

I'm so glad I went for the Mopar Police wheels, not the usual big billet!!

Although the vinyl seats were in pretty good shape, they were a bit tired and a boring dark red color and Tara wanted to "spice things up" a bit. Well, I think we found the right material for that, that's for sure.

We bought a roll of pink, furry leopard-like print material that I joke is so nice to sit on it that everyone should drive in it naked. Tara made me promise not to though.

Amazingly to me, Tara made these truly fitted covers over the weekend, took the seats apart and fitted them to the seats properly. Not just elasticated slip-ons, but really fitted. It makes a world of difference.

Love them or hate them (and every woman who sees them, loves them) they certainly liven up the interior. Door panels will come soon, Tara is already planning how to replace the flat sheets and re-use the top fiberglass panel.

Deuce of Spades movie

http://www.shawthing.com/Blogs/Cars/Deuce-of-Spades-movie

http://www.shawthing.com/Blogs/Cars/Deuce-of-Spades-movie

http://www.shawthing.com/ViewPage.aspx?contentname=Deuce-of-Spades-movie#feedback

Mon, 22 Oct 2007 18:47:27 GMT

I've read about this movie on the H.A.M.B. for a while now, but it's getting exciting now with Faith still slaving away on finding period sets, cars, people and more - everything needed to make a movie that is as period-perfect as possible.

Oh, and on a zero budget.

This thread about the project is really incredible.

I got the wheels back yesterday after getting www.rallyamerica.com to move the centers outboard, and I wanted to get the tires on and back on the car to test fit.

But when I took them down the road poor Alex couldnt get the tires to blow up. I ended up taking them to McDonough Tire on racetrack. They had a cool method that I hadn't seen before; using a little compressed air tank they shot - more like exploded - 160psi of air into the tire. It basically BLEW the sidewalls against the rim.

They had to do it like 3 times per wheel to get the seal, but it was fun to watch.

Now back on the car, they fit perfectly. Next is to lower the body onto the chassis and see if they still rub the bodywork...

Got the Wagon back!

http://www.shawthing.com/Blogs/Cars/The-Tiki-Wagon/Got-the-Wagon-back

http://www.shawthing.com/Blogs/Cars/The-Tiki-Wagon/Got-the-Wagon-back

http://www.shawthing.com/ViewPage.aspx?contentname=Got-the-Wagon-back#feedback

Fri, 05 Oct 2007 23:22:55 GMT

We got the wagon back today. Our friend Alex had it for a while to check it out and fix brakes, transmission and a bunch of leaks.

Now it drives much better. Tara got the groceries in it and dropped off Molly at a sleepover, so it looks like it's finally settling in as a daily driver!

And yesterday I found a writeup that they've published about their trip which is awesome.
